Keep your pizza peel in fine working order and ready to use with an occasional rubbing of mineral oil It will keep the wood conditioned and keep it from cracking. Your other kitchen items (cutting boards, wooden bowls, wooden spoons, etc.) will benefit from a rubbing of mineral oil every now and then.

Make sure your pizza peel (or other wooden items) are thoroughly dry before applying. I apply a small amount of mineral oil to a soft cloth and rub into the wood.
