Antique Glass Ice Bucket Vase
An antique ice bucket makes a charming vase...especially in the springtime. A bouquet of flowers looks just as if it's been picked in the garden and carried inside in a very pretty pail. This heavy-weight, Depression glass ice bucket has an elegant etched pattern and a stainless steel, swinging handle. Fill it with springtime blooms to make a sweet centerpiece for the table.
- dimensions: 9"H (to top of handle) x 6"W
- handle has the slightest of rust spots (see photo), but condition is otherwise perfect
In addition to being a beautiful vase, I almost always pack an ice bucket (similar to this one) along on picnics. I place all the silverware down into it before placing the ice bucket in the picnic basket. Then, once at the picnic, I empty it of silverware and fill it with ice I've toted along in the cooler. Everyone always appreciates being able to have a chilled beverage on a warm picnic day. At the end of the picnic, I simply toss the ice out on the grass, dry the bucket, and put all the dirty silverware in it to transport home.
I love wandering the scenic backroads of New England and searching for treasures at antique shops along the way. All vintage/antique offerings in Wonderful Life Farm are high quality and must meet my standard for antiques...beautiful AND usable. Each piece comes with a small tag attached telling you a little bit about the piece and how I came to find it, because every piece has a story.
